Marshall Football: Herd edges Memphis 23-22

Despite committing five turnovers Marshall University edged Memphis 23-22 in Thursday night's football game. Starting in place of injured quarterback A.J Graham, Rakeem Cato completed 13 passes on 23 attempts for 150 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Two Marshall turnovers, a fumble by punter Kase Whitehead and another by Cato were returned for Memphis touchdowns. Marshall did not force a Tiger interception or fumble.

Thundering Herd running back Tron Martinez had a monster game, rushing 22 times for 94 yards and one touchdown, he also fumbled once.
