Marshall Basketball: Kelvin Amayo transferring to Marshall

According to his Twitter account Kelvin Amayo is transferring to Marshall University. Amayo signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Towson University but the NCAA declared him academically ineligible for the 2011-2012 basketball season. Grant Taylor of the Herald Dispatch reported via Twitter that Amayo will enroll at Marshall next semester as a prop. He should be eligible to join Marshall’s basketball team in December of 2012.

A 6’5, 200 lbs point guard, Amayo was rated a three star prospect by Rivals.com coming out of NIA Prep (Newark, NJ). Besides Towson, Amayo also had scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Arizona, Oklahoma State, and Rice among many other schools.
