UCF Athletic Director Keith Tribble will resign amid NCAA recruiting violations in the schools basketball and football programs. It is also being reported that current Central Florida and former Marshall basketball coach Donnie Jones will be suspended three games by UCF for his role in the infractions. On the football front wide receivers coach David Kelly, the Knights' top recruiter, has resigned.
A rumor also indicates that up to five members of UCF’s basketball team will be suspended for either failing a drug test or accepting improper benefits. Donnie Jones held three of his players out of last Saturday’s exhibition win over West Virginia Tech for a violation of team rules. Two other players, A.J. Rompza and Jeff Jordan, did not dress due to a still pending resolution of NCAA eligibility matters.
