Marshall Football: Cato to start vs. Memphis, Eddie Sullivan quits team

Per Herald Dispatch columnist Chuck Landon, Marshall University freshman quarterback Rakeem Cato will start against Memphis. Sophomore A.J Graham, who had started the previous four games, is scheduled to have shoulder surgery tomorrow. Graham injured his shoulder last week during Marshall’s 59-17 loss to Tulsa.

Landon is also reporting that third string quarterback Eddie Sullivan has quit Marshall’s football team. A sophomore, Sullivan was Brian Anderson’s primary backup last season, completing six passes on 24 attempts for 134 yards and one touchdown. Sullivan was passed on the depth chart by Graham and Cato this August and has not seen the field in 2011.
