Marshall running backs Michael Payton and Chris Parker are two of 38 former Football Championship Subdivision players on the 2012 College Football Hall of Fame ballot.
Payton won the FCS equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, the Walter Payton Award, in 1992. He currently works as a announcer for the CBS Sports Network.
During his four year Marshall career (1992-1995) Parker became the Thundering Herd’s all time leading rusher, accumulating over 7,000 yards.
