According to Brett McMurphy of CBSSports.com, multiple non-BCS athletic programs are seeking membership in the Mountain West/Conference USA merger. McMurphy writes that every Western Athletic Conference member has expressed interest in joining the yet to be named league. Sun Belt Conference schools Florida Atlantic, Florida International, North Texas and Charlotte, an Atlantic 10 institution, have also reached out to representatives of the new partnership according to McMurphy.
