Marshall Football: Verbal Commitment Watch, Week 9

1. Tyler Combs, OL, Lawrence County High School (KY)

Lawrence County and Tyler Combs had a difficult Friday night, losing to Belfry 48 – 6.

2. Devon Johnson, LB/RB, Richlands High School (VA)

Richlands kept it’s perfect record in tact with a 48 – 23 win over Carol County. Devon Johnson had a big night, rushing 12 times for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson also hauled in a 27 yard touchdown pass.

3. Trenton Norvell, QB, Seabreeze High School (FL)

Despite coughing up a 28 – 3 halftime lead Seabreeze defeated Palm Bay Side 35 – 31. Trenton Norvell finished the night with 11 completions on 15 attempts for 168 yards. He also carried the ball three times for nine yards.

4. Ryan Riedel, LB, Cabell Midland High School (WV)

Ryan Riedel and the Cabell Midland defense limited Capital to 263 of total offense but still lost 31 – 29 Friday night.

5. Antonio Wells, DE, Magna Vista High School (VA)

Magna Vista stayed perfect on the season, defeating Tunstall 62 – 7 Friday night.

6. Matt Cincotta, LS/LB, Charlotte Catholic High School (NC)

Long snapper Matt Cincotta helped Charlotte Catholic to a big 48 – 26 win over Berry Academy as he found his target on all field goal and punt attempts.

7. Cameron Dees, OL, Armwood High School (FL)

Armwood had no trouble disposing Strawberry Crest 80 – 0 Friday night. Rated the nations 16th best high school football team by MaxPreps.com, Armwood extended its scoreless quarter streak to 24 during the victory.
