Marshall Basketball: JUCO forward Elijah Pittman commits to Herd

Elijah Pittman, a 6'7, 210 lbs, power forward from Lamar State College (JUCO, Texas) has verbally committed to Marshall University.

Pittman has taken a long and winding road to Marshall. As a senior at Holmes High School (KY) he earned all state honors while averaging 14 points, six rebounds, and two blocks per game. Lacking the grades to qualify at a division one school Pittman committed to Chipola College (JUCO, Florida). Pittman planned to attend WVU after his time at Chipola.

While at Chipola Pittman was arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and sentenced to probation. Pittman violated the terms of his probation which lead to a six month jail sentence.
Before violating his probation and being dismissed from school Pittman played in eight games averaging 13.2 points and five rebounds.

After leaving jail Pittman enrolled at Lamar State College where he will play one season before transferring to Marshall. Besides Marshall, Pittman also had a scholarship offer from Southern Mississippi.
