Bell Says he won't visit MarshallBelle Glade, Fla., safety Travis Bell was among the WVU recruits most affected by the departures of former assistant Doc Holliday, now head coach at Marshall, and graduate assistant JaJuan Seider, who followed Holliday to become running backs coach.
Immediately following the news of Holliday being named head coach of The Thundering Herd, Bell explained that he was re-opening his recruitment and taking a look around to make sure WVU was still the best fit for him.
Considering his close relationship to both Holliday and Seider, Marshall became a logical destination that Bell would potentially consider. However, it appears that possibility has not come to fruition.
Reports that Bell intended to visit Marshall this weekend are false, Bell explained.
“Says who?,” Bell asked when posed the question about the reported coming visit. “I’m not going there.”
Bell said that he is solid with WVU and that he is not taking anymore recruiting visits.
Fred Pickett, a wide receiver from Pahokee, Fla., who is also verbally committed to the Mountaineers, was also believed to be visiting Marshall. Pickett has been unreachable for comment since Holliday left WVU and Bell did not know of Pickett’s intentions either. “I don’t really talk to Fred, so I don’t know,” Bell said.
