Did you know?

Did you know that former Marshall “Young” Thundering Herd quarterback Reggie Oliver played professional football? After completing his eligibility with Marshall in 1974 Oliver was signed by the World Football Leagues Jacksonville Sharks. Oliver got his first action in Jacksonville’s sixth game of the season against Orlando and almost lead the Sharks to a come from behind victory. After the near miss against Orlando Oliver held on to the starting quarterback job and took Jacksonville to a 4 – 10 record. Running the same veer offense he mastered at Marshall Oliver passed for 1,415 yards with seven touchdowns and twelve interceptions. Oliver would only spend one year in the WFL before moving on to the Canadian Football League.
