Recapping the past few days in Marshall athletics.
1) Marshall's football season ended with a 65-59, double overtime loss at ECU. The Thundering Herd finished the year 5-7, one win short of bowl eligibility.
2) After three years at the helm of Marshall's defense, defensive coordinator Chris Rippon resigned Saturday.
3) Marshall got its basketball season back on track with a 89-82 victory over Nevada. The Herd won despite the absence of Robert Goff and Yous Mbao. The big men collided during Tuesday's practice, sending both to the hospital. Goff was on the bench in street clothes while Mbao sported a neck brace, sitting in a wheel chair. Mbao could be out for the season.
