Using a strong defensive and rebounding effort, Marshall (4-3, 0-0) topped Morehead State (4-3, 0-0) 70-67 in the Cam Henderson Center Wednesday evening.
Senior forward Dennis Tinnon lead the Thundering Herd with a double-double, scoring 12 points while grabbing 16 rebounds. As a team, Marshall held Morehead to just 36.6% shooting and won the rebounding battle 53-46.
The Herd returns to action on Saturday as they host UNC Wilmington, tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
