Despite a triple-double by DeAndre Kane, Marshall lost to tournament host Hofstra in Sunday's finale of the 2K Sports Classic, falling in double overtime 103-100.
Kane recorded the forth triple-double in Thundering Herd history, scoring 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assist. Even with Kane's impressive numbers, Marshall could not overcome a poor rebounding performance as Hofstra won the battle of the boards 57-43. The Herd also had trouble at the free throw line, only converting 61.9% (26-42) of their chances.
Marshall returns to the hardwood this Saturday at the Cam Henderson Center for a 7pm tip-off against Nevada.
