And point guard Calvin Newell, who I mentioned in this space and in previous columns as a primary target of Donnie Jones before “DJ” high-tailed it to UCF, has chosen Oklahoma after visiting Marshall and new Herd Coach Tom Herrion this weekend.
There’s no shame in losing to Big 12 schools in recruiting … especially when the recruitment of said athlete had to bridge two different basketball staffs. That said, I think Herrion is going to win his fair share of recruiting battles, even against the so-called big dogs.
