Chuck McGill at the MU Sports Blog (http://blogs.dailymail.com/marshall/) has listed a number of possible Marshall basketball recruits. Here is what he wrote:
Cleveland Melvin –- He’s the most coveted of a trio of players from Baltimore’s Notre Dame Prep that Marshall could target. Melvin, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward, previously committed to UConn but reneged on his pledge in November. He and Antoine Myers, listed below, are visiting next week.
Antoine Myers -– A 6-4 guard with a smattering of interest from Big East and ACC schools.
Lamont Samuels –- A 6-3 swingman with most mid-major interest to this point. He’s originally from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Alex Harris –- The 6-1, 170-pound guard made the move from El Cerrito High School in Richmond, Calif., to Bridgton Academy in Maine for his senior season. He tied a school record with nine 3-pointers in a game for Bridgton this season.
P.J. Lockridge — A 6-6 wing player who played with Michael Haynes, below, at Heat Academy in Virginia. Lockridge visited Louisville in February on the same recruiting trip that featured Huntington Prep players Justin Coleman and Gorgui Dieng.
Michael Haynes — He is bulkier than his teammate Lockridge, and according to ESPN, has interest from Big East and Big Ten schools, as well as Memphis and Xavier.
Curtis Wilkerson –- A 6-7, 220-pound junior college forward who played the last two seasons at San Bernardino Valley College in California. He’s originally from Kirby, Miss.
Keep in mind this is not a comprehensive list (Huntington Prep’s Gorgui Dieng is in play, for instance), but I’ll keep digging to see if I can unearth any other names that could land with Herrion’s Herd.
