Drakeford Dismissed

T.J. Drakeford is no longer a member of Marshall University’s football program.

The veteran cornerback, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound junior, was given notice in the aftermath of an arrest early last Sunday morning.

“T.J. Drakeford has been dismissed from the Marshall football team due to a team rules violation,” said Marshall head football coach Doc Holliday in a prepared statement.

Drakeford, a native of Charlotte, N.C., was involved in a scuffle with Huntington police along with defensive back DeQuan Bembry outside a night club located on Third Avenue last Sunday........

Besides the arrest, Drakeford also was involved in some alledged additional wrong-doing within the program, including showing up 45 minutes late for a workout.
