First reported by FootballScoop.com on February 18th Tennessee Martin assistant coach Gerad Parker has joined the Marshall football staff as wide receivers coach. A two year assistant at Tennessee Martin, Parker was the Skyhawk’s recruiting coordinator, passing game coordinator, and wide receivers coach.
Parker is a Huntington W.V native but spent his High School years at Lawrence County K.Y under the tutelage of current Marshall assistant Phil Ratliff. As a standout wide receiver at Lawrence County Parker earned a scholarship to Kentucky. Even though he received limited playing time in college Parker was a three-year member of the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Parker started his coaching career in 2006 at Raceland High School K.Y as receivers and defensive backs coach before returning to Kentucky as a graduate assistant the following year.
