D.J Hunter, 6’0, 196 pound defensive back from Middletown High School (OH) has enrolled at Marshall and will be eligible for spring practice. Hunter was rated a four star prospect by rivals.com coming out of Middletown in 2008 and was set to attend Tennessee before legal troubles derailed his career.
In July of 2009 Hunter plead guilty to felonious assault for shooting a BB gun from a vehicle that struck a 15-year old boy in the face. Instead of sentencing Hunter to jail the judge put him on probation for five years that include a ban on playing organized sports. Apparently the athletics part of his probation was overturned today, clearing Hunter to participate in spring practice.
