Huntington’s newest entry into indoor football is set to kick off their season this weekend. The Huntington Hammer will be taking on the Canton Cougars at 4pm in the Big Sandy Super Store Arena Sunday night. Huntington and Canton are members of the United Indoor Football League along with the Saginaw (MI) Sting, Eastern Kentucky Drillers, Northern Kentucky River Monsters, and Johnstown (PA) Generals.
Huntington had a number of former Marshall football players in training camp but only three made the roster. Those three players are linebacker Andre Portis, wide receiver / defensive back Terick Thomas, and offensive lineman Erik Vint.
If you can’t make it to the Big Sandy Sunday night the Hammer will be streaming a live radio broadcast of their game at www.wnblam.com.
