Marshall’s football strength and conditioning coach Joe Miday has confirmed to the Huntington Herald Dispatch that he is leaving for the same position at Western Kentucky. Miday has worked with the Thundering Herd since 2007, rising to the rank of head football strength and conditioning coach last February. With his departure, Marshall will be looking for his fifth strength and conditioning coach in four years under Doc Holliday.
Speculation on my part but, you should expect assistant strength and conditioning coach Scott Wilks to take over Miday’s responsibilities on a interim basis. A former Marshall linebacker, Wilks joined the staff last February after a two year stint as Hofstra University’s head strength and conditioning coach.
Scott would be a great choice, as a third-generation Herd guy and a hard-working strength coach. Best of luck at WKU for Joe, hope to see you back in C-USA with the Hilltoppers soon.
