Junior College prospect Neville Hewitt has given a verbal commitment to Marshall University. Recruited by safeties coach Todd Hartley, Hewitt is the fourth defensive back in the Thundering Herds 2013 recruiting class.
A two year player at Georgia Military College, Hewitt registered a team high 65 tackles as a freshman. This year the six-foot-two, 220 pound safety was named a National Junior College Athletic Association All American honorable mention.
A three star prospect according to Rivals.com, Hewitt had scholarship offers from Colorado State and Appalachian State in addition to Marshall. Hewitt also received significant interest from Arkansas where he took an official in December.
When Neville graduates from Georgia Military College this semester, he will have two years of eligibility remaining at Marshall.
