Like Vinny Curry last year, Marshall wide receiver Aaron Dobson is the Thundering Herd’s lone representative in this year’s Senior Bowl. Considered the premier post-season college All Star competition, Dobson’s North squad is being coached by the Oakland Raiders staff. The game is not until Saturday but, practice provides players like Dobson the best chance to impress NFL scouts.
This week we will provide daily reports on Dobson’s efforts to improve his draft status.
Day one of Senior Bowl practice started with weigh-ins. Dobson measured an impressive six-foot-two, 203 pounds but his hand size, only 8.5 inches wide, caused concern among some onlookers.
When he had a chance to hit the practice field Dobson was among the most active players. According to the Philadelphia Eagles official website, Dobson showed a knack for beating press coverage. The National Football Post also reports that the South Charleston native used a number of moves to create separation from defenders and he consistently caught the ball away from his body.
The North practices today from 9:30 am to 11am, check back here tomorrow for more analysis on Dobson’s performance.
