Marshall Football: Notes from Holliday’s Postseason Press Conference

Marshall head football coach Doc Holliday sat down for a press conference yesterday afternoon that touched on numerous subjects. The professional scribes provided re-caps here, here, here, here, and here. Not to be forgotten, you can watch a video of Holliday’s press conference by clicking this link.

If you are looking for a cliff notes version of yesterday’s proceedings, I have included one below.

1) Two junior college players, Arnold Blackmon and Taj Letman sent letters of intent to Marshall yesterday. Both will enroll next semester and participate in spring practice.

In a related note, prep school prospects like Fork Union’s  Angelo Jean-Louis and Stefan Houston can transfer to Marshall in January but, they can’t sign letters of intent until February.

2) After injuring his knee in the season finale against ECU, quarterback Rakeem Cato did not require surgery and will be a full participant in spring practice.

3) Expect a decision on Marshall’s next defensive coordinator during the second week of January.

4) Fullback Devon Johnson will move back to linebacker.
