Marshall (6-4, 0-0) host the undefeated and 11th ranked Cincinnati Bearcats (9-0, 0-0) tomorrow afternoon in the Charleston Civic Center. The two teams met last year in Cincinnati with the Thundering Herd earning a 73-69 overtime victory.
Tomorrow’s game will mark Marshall's first without leading scorer DeAndre Kane who is out indefinitely with a right hand injury. Expect sophomore Chris Martin and freshman Tamron Manning to shoulder the load at point guard in Kane’s absence.
The Bearcats are lead by swingman Sean Kilpatrick. The junior is averaging 20 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Other double-digit scorers include guards Cashmere Wright (15 ppg) and JaQuon Parker (11 ppg).
As a team, Cincinnati dominates in two categories, points and rebounds. The Bearcats rank second among division one basketball programs, averaging 46.8 rebounds per game. They also score in bunches, pouring in 84.2 points per game, good enough for fourth in the country.
T.V coverage will be provided by the CBS Sports Network, tip-off is scheduled for 2pm ET. Tickets are still available for as little as $10 by contacting Marshall’s box office via phone (800-The-Herd) or online, HerdZone.com.
