Marshall Football: Verbal Commitment Watch, Week 6

1. Tyler Combs, OL, Lawrence County High School (KY)

Tyler Combs and Lawrence County broke a three game losing streak Friday night, beating Raceland 14 -12. Bluegrassrivals.com has a discussion thread about the game.

2. Devon Johnson, LB/RB, Richlands High School (VA)

Devon Johnson rushed for 145 yards on seven carries with three touchdowns during Richlands 49-0 win over Patrick County. On Saturday Johnson took in Marshall’s 30 – 10 loss to Virginia Tech on a official visit.

3. Trenton Norvell, QB, Seabreeze High School (FL)

Trenton Norvell was involved in all four Seabreeze High School touchdowns as the Sandcrabs defeated Deltona 27 – 0 Thursday night. Through the air Norvell completed five passes on ten attempts for 78 yards and one touchdown. On the ground he rushed for 53 yards on nine carries with three touchdowns. Norvell made an official visit to Huntington on Saturday for Marshall’s game against Virginia Tech.

4. Ryan Riedel, LB, Cabell Midland High School (WV)

In a overtime thriller Ryan Riedel and the Cabell Midland Knights defeated Huntington High 31 – 30 Friday night. The Cabell Midland defense allowed Huntington to gain 211 yards rushing and 106 passing yards.

5. Antonio Wells, DE, Magna Vista High School (VA)

Magna Vista remained undefeated Friday night, pulling out a 35 – 28 victory over Pulaski County. Antonio Wells made the trip to Huntington for an official visit during Marshall’s game against Virginia Tech.
