After a day of brisk ticket sales, local officials are confident that the Conference USA tournament will make a $1 million profit, thus relieving the El Paso Sports Commission, city and county of any financial obligations.
However, that could depend on how far the Miners go in the tournament.
About 4,000 tickets were remaining for UTEP's quarterfinal game, slated for 5:30 p.m. Thursday against either Marshall or Houston..............
