In a interview with UNLV president Neal Smatresh, Las Vegas Review Journal columnist Ron Kantowski reports the merger between Conference USA and the Mountain West is not dead. In the article Smatresh, the chairman of the MWC board of directors, refutes a CBS Sports story published earlier this week citing a “college football insider” that the merger is unlikely.
