According to various reports Larry Brown will be named the next men's basketball coach at SMU. Brown is the only coach to win a NCAA championship (Kansas 1988) and NBA championship (Detroit 2004).
It has been rumored that Illinois State head coach Tim Jankovich will join the 71 year old Brown and be groomed as his eventual replacement.
SMU has one year remaining in Conference USA before they move onto the Big East.
