The verbal commitment watch returns for 2011 as many high school football teams opened their seasons Friday night. Marshall currently has three verbal commitments for the class of 2102, Tyler Combs, Devon Johnson, and Trenton Norvell:
Tyler Combs, OL, Lawrence County High School (KY)
Lawrence County has a difficult opening night against Paul G. Blazer High School, losing 36-16. Combs helped Lawrence County’s rushing attack gain 170 yards on 37 carries. They also accumulated 35 yards through the air. Game story from the Herald Dispatch can be found below:

Devon Johnson, LB/RB, Richlands High School (VA)
Opens the season next week, August 26th, at home against Gale City High School.
Trenton Norvel, QB, Seabreeze High School (FL)
Opens the season next week, August 26th, away at St. Augustine.
