Marshall Basketball: Herd beats down High Point 79-59

Five Marshall players scored in double digits as the Thundering Herd took down High Point 79-59 at home Saturday evening.

For the first time in his collegiate career Justin Coleman lead MU in points with 16. He also grabbed five rebounds and distributed two assist. Junior college transfer Robert Goff registered a double-double with an even ten points and rebounds Beyond Goff and Coelman, DeAndre Kane (14), Damier Pitts (10), and Shaquille Johnson (10), also scored in double digits.

As a team Marshall out rebounded High Point 40 to 28. The Herd also caused 16 turnovers while only giving away the ball six times. Marshall shot 44 percent from the floor but, had trouble beyond the arc again, only hitting eight of 31 attempts.

The Herd (7-2,0-0) will host Belmont (7-4, 2-0) in the Cam Henderson Center Monday night at 7pm. Belmont played at Miami (OH) this evening and suffered a 66-61 defeat.
