After stopping Virginia Tech on their first overtime possession, Marshall kicker Justin Haig aligned himself for a 39 yard field goal attempt and Thundering Herd victory. But it was not to be, the Hokies blocked Haig's kick and two overtime periods later, Marshall trudged away from Lane Stadium's 29-21 losers.
