Marshall Basketball: Pittman Allowed on Canada Trip, Bond set at $1,000

Appearing in Cabell County Circuit Court yesterday, Marshall University basketball player Elijah Pittman was arraigned on charges of misdemeanor battery.

Pittman was in court following a October 2012 incident where he allegedly got into a physical confrontation with fellow Marshall student Mazen Younis. Huntington Police Detective Rob Stinnett reported that Younis suffered a concussion, broken nose, and facial fractures during the incident.

Presiding over the hearing, Judge Alfred Ferguson set Pittman’s bond a $1,000 and granted him permission to travel with Marshall’s basketball team during their five-game exhibition trip in Canada
