A quarterback joined Marshall's 2014 recruiting class Friday night as Cole Garvin gave a verbal commitment to the Thundering Herd.
A three star prospect according to Rivals, Garvin lead Sandy Creek High School to a undefeated season and Georgia's AAAA state championship last year. In 15 games he passed for 2,491 yards, 20 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
247Sports ranks Garvin as the nations 40th best pro-style quarterback. At 6-foot-1, 200 pounds he is not a running threat. Garvin only rushed for 13 yards and one touchdown as a junior.
Before committing to Marshall Garvin received scholarship offers from many other schools including South Alabama, Western Kentucky, UAB, Georgia State, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss, FIU, Arkansas State, UNC Charlotte, Memphis, and Buffalo.
