Western Kentucky has promoted
offensive coordinator Jeff Brohm to head football coach following the
departure of Bobby Petrino. After leading the Hilltoppers football program for
one season, Petrino accepted the head coaching position at Louisville earlier
this week.
Brohm is a long time assistant coach, having worked at UAB,
Illinios, Florida Atlantic, and Louisville. He will pilot WKU into its first
year of Conference USA competition in 2014.
In a related story, Petrino hired
UAB head coach Garrick McGee to be his offensive coordinator at Louisville.
In two seasons with the Blazers, McGee recorded at overall record of 5-19.
According to various outlets, candidates to replace McGee
include Jacksonville State head coach Bill Clark, former Mississippi head coach
Houston Nut, and North Texas associate head coach Mike Canals.
