Conference USA had another tough performance against BCS level schools last week, squandering three opportunities to register a marquee win.
Despite outscoring Purdue 27-9 in the second half, Marshall could not overcome a 42-14 halftime deficit in a 51-41 Boilermaker win. Southern Miss lead Louisville 17-15 entering the fourth quarter but six unanswered points let the Cardinals out of Hattiesburg with a 21-17 victory. UCF also relinquished a first half lead over Missouri, dropping a 21-16 decision at home to the Tigers.
In league play, Marshall’s opponent this week, Tulsa, escaped UAB with a 49-42 win and UTEP lost at ECU 28-18.

For the second week in a row Southern Miss host a noteworthy out of conference opponent when Boise State comes to town on Saturday. Marshall looks to keep its undefeated record in C-USA play intact as West division leader Tulsa visits Huntington.
