Rakim Reed, a 6’4, 210 pound tight end from Timken Senior High School (OH) has committed to Marshall. Reed will grey shirt (enrollee at MU in the fall but will not join the football team until spring practice 2012) and is technically part of the 2012 recruiting class. A three star prospect according to Rivals.com, Reed also had offers from Pittsburgh and Buffalo. He is currently playing on Timken’s basketball team and is a major force in the post.
