Former Marshall offensive lineman Luke Salmons has accepted the head football coaching position at Cabell Midland High School (WV). Salmons, a all MAC first team selection at MU, had spent the last three season as Lawrence County’s (KY) head football coach. After going 0-11 in 2008, Salmons lead Lawrence County to a 12-1 record in 2009 and was named Kentucky 4A football coach of the year. This past season Lawrence County accumulated a record of 8 – 3.
In related news, Salmons was previously announced as the Huntington Hammer’s (Huntington’s new indoor football franchise) inaugural head coach but will not be keeping that commitment. The Hammer have announced a new head coach, Josh Resignalo.
Ive known Luke for a long time, ever since i was born. My dad was his high school wrestling coach, and friend. Luke will do great at Cabell Midland
