Citing sources, Huntington Herald Dispatch columnist Chuck Landon has learned that Marshall University running backs coach JaJuan Sieder will accept the same position at West Virginia. According to Landon’s source, Seider will be paid $240,000 a year plus additional perks.
A college quarterback, Seider started his playing career at WVU before transferring to Florida A&M. After a brief stint in the NFL and seven years of coaching high school football he returned to the Mountaineers in 2008 as a graduate assistant.
Seider was a inaugural member of head coach Doc Holliday’s first Marshall coaching staff in 2010. One of three remaining members of that staff, Seider also served as the Thundering Herd's recruiting coordinator in addition to his coaching duties. A Florida native, he has been credited with Marshall’s strong recruiting presence in the Sunshine State.
Seider is the seventh assistant to leave the Herd since the season ended in November.
