HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University football tight end Cody Slate will miss the remainder of his senior season because of a knee injury, head coach Mark Snyder said Tuesday at the Huntington Quarterback Club luncheon.
Slate was injured Saturday during a game against Southern Miss.
He is a leading candiate for the John Mackey Award given to the nation's top tight end.
