Afternoon Update

Last year Marshall pitcher Steve Blevins was selected 636 overall (21st round) in the MLB first year player draft. Blevins decided to go pro and leave Marshall a year early. During his first year in professional baseball Blevins played for the Gulf Coast League Twins and the Elizabeth Twins of the Appalachian League. While in the Appalachian League Blevins stuck out twenty seven batters to only nine walks while amassing an ERA of 5.47. This year Blevins has been a work horse for the Beloit Snappers (Class A), leading all relievers with sixty five innings pitched, fifty six strike outs to only twenty three walks, and an ERA of 3.60.
