Former Marshall outfielder Rhett Stafford has been promoted from the Oakland Athletics rookie league team to the Stockton Ports, the organizations high A California league affiliate.
Stafford was drafted in the 22nd round of this June’s MLB draft. During his Junior year at Marshall Stafford lead the Herd with 10 home runs and 41 RBI.
Before being promoted to Stockton, Stafford hit for a .190 average with 1 home run and 8 RBI in the Arizona rookie league. He has yet to take the field for Stockton.
