Huntington Park and Recreation Board Approves Field House Negotiations with MU

The Greater Huntington Parks and Recreation Board voted Wednesday to peruse negotiations with Marshall University over the Veterans Memorial Field House site.

Today the Marshall Board of Governors will vote on a proposal to issue fifty million dollars worth of bonds for a project that would include, a new parking garage, soccer stadium complex, applied engineering complex, renovations to the former Stone & Thomas building, and an indoor athletic complex.

If the bonds are aproved a soccer stadium would be built on the Memorial Field House site. An indoor practice facility would then be constructed over Marshall’s current soccer field.
