HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Former Marshall wide receiver Troy Brown, who went on to a long career with the New England Patriots, has been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.

A return specialist for Marshall in the early 90s, Brown is to be inducted in July in South Bend, Ind.

He was a member of Marshall's 1992 Division I-AA championship team. He scored 28 career touchdowns, including four on special teams.

A year ago, he retired after 14 NFL seasons, all with the Patriots.
