Former Marshall basketball player Hassan Whiteside was waived by the Sacramento Kings earlier today. The Kings drafted Whiteside 33rd overall in the 2010 draft after his freshman season with the Thundering Herd. According to reports Sacramento had to waive the 7-foot center today before his contract became fully guaranteed for the 2012-13 season.
In two NBA season Whiteside only averaged 2.1 rebounds and 1.5 points in 19 games played.
