Marshall Football:Verbal Commitment Watch, Week 10

Keith Baxter, DB, Homestead HS (FL)

Keith Baxter and the Homestead secondary held South Dade to 86 passing yards but still lost 20 – 10. This was Homestead’s last game of the season, they finish with a record of 5 – 4. A box score for the game can be found here:

Cortez Carter, ATH, Liberty HS (VA)

In the “Bird Bowl” against rival Fauquier High School Liberty was able to squeak out a 27 – 21 triple over time victory. The win granted Liberty playoff eligibility. Cortez Carter had two rushing touchdowns including one in overtime. Read about the game here:

Blake Frohnapfel, QB, Colonial Forge HS (VA)

Colonial Forge wrapped up a undefeated regular season with a 45 – 14 win over Stafford. The Eagles earned a first-round bye in the Northwest Region, Division 6 playoffs and will host a game on Nov. 19. In under three quarters of work Blake Frohnapfel passed for 243 yards on 11 completions and 17 attempts with two touchdowns. This season Frohnapfel has passed for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns while also rushing for 412 yards with 14 TD’s on the ground. Read about last weeks game here:

Tommy Shuler, WR, Miami Central (FL)

Miami Central routed Hialeah Miami Lakes 63 – 0 last week. Shuler had a slow night, catching two passes for ten yards. For the year Shuler leads Miami Central with 479 yards on 39 receptions and 5 touchdowns. A box score for the game can be found here:

Anthony Spano, OL, Gulf Coast (FL)

With a 32-28 victory over Palmetto Ridge, Gulf Coast High School and their 3 – 7 record secured one of two District 4A-12 playoff spots last Friday. Read about the game here:

Deontae West, ATH, Hialeah HS (FL)

Deontae West and the Hialeah secondary held Miami Springs to 8 completions during a 36 – 28 Thoroughbreds win. A box score for the game can be found here:

Corie Wilson, DB, Edison HS (FL)

Levern Jacobs, WR, Suitland HS (MD)

Suitland suffered its first lost of the season last week to Eleanor Roosevelt 34 – 14. Levern Jacobs caught 3 passes for 58 yards and one touchdown. Suitland will host Eleanor Roosevelt in a playoff game this Saturday. Read about the game here:
