Marshall Baseball Players Compete in Collegiate Summer Leagues

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – A total of 17 players off the 2010 Marshall University baseball roster will be competing in collegiate baseball leagues across the country during the summer.
Conference USA First Team catcher and Marshall career home run, RBI and total bases leader

Victor Gomez is suiting up for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod League. Gomez will also see time at first base for the Commodores.

Five players, including the 2010 Thundering Herd weekend rotation of Ian Kadish, Mike Mason and All-Conference USA First Team selection Arik Sikula will pitch in the Northwoods League.
Recent 21st round draft pick Kevin Shackelford, Kyle Blank and Victor Ramos will play for the West Virginia Miners of the Prospect League, located in Beckley. The Herd played three games at Epling Stadium, home of the Miners, during the regular season, posting a 2-1 record.

A trio of MU players will take the field in the Great Lakes League in Ben Jurevicius, Kenny Socorro and Chris Norton. Jurevicius will roam the outfield for the Delaware Cows, while Socorro and Norton will team up on the Stark County Terriers in Ohio.

Sluggers Thor Meeks and Rhett Stafford will both play for the Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
